Canton Fare

Canton Fare - "The King of Roasts"

A self proclaimed king that boasts it's name in an area being the only non-halal restaurant in that area. There it lies, hidden within the brick paradise of Plaza Damansara, they call themselves, Canton Fare. The name is attractive enough to let you peek through it's glass windows leaving you craving for more.

The restaurant gave a smiling welcome with a beautiful menu that acts as your appetizers. For once, nice typographic design in a restaurant's menu, makes one hungry designer eating happy.

The famous Beijing Roast Duck was among the most anticipated dish we ordered. It came not only with a beautifully roasted duckie, but also with a chef to demonstrate the true essence of cutting it's crispy skin of the yummy but poor duckie.

Wrapped around egg pancakes, the skin doesn't come as exciting when you put into your mouth without the sweet sauce. Unfortunately, it became not-so crispy after the long awaited chef-cutting-demo.

Yay~ What can I say, when it's about Char Siew & Roasted Pork? I couldn't forget the feeling when they melted into my craving taste buds. The crispy and succulent roasted pork just couldn't stop jumping into my stomach as I munched away!

This is a pork leg. A crispy pork leg with a sticky filling. I wasn't really fancied with this dish although I am a 100% pork lover. It was okay, I wouldn't say it was that bad. The most unforgettable moment was when the sticky side of the skin seemed to dangle on one of my front tooth. Eeew~

This special dish is a mixture of crab meat and egg whites. The undescribable feeling when it meets my tastebuds is so heavenly that you feel like drowning your whole face into it. This dish was empty in 5 mins. No further comments, go try.

Other dishes was ordinary. Then came fishy fishy swimming onto our table. The fresh and mouthwatery dish was steamed perfectly for our tastebuds. Not too salty, not too strong. Lastly, came the remaining duck meat from the previous roasted duckie.

Supposingly, the meat should be stir fried with the freakin salty noodles. Without the meat, the noodles would taste like sea water. Don't ever eat the noodles without duck, unless you want to murder your kidneys. xD

Til then, munch away!!!
